#912 Hanging your hand out of the car window

On a warm, sunny day, driving in a car with the window open and your hair whipping around everywhere, what’s better than letting your hand slip safely out that window and letting it wildly roller-coaster against the wind?

You know how it is: that speeding car creates a strong and forceful wind pocket that’s fun to ride, and as you let it slip and slide across your fingers, you can kind of close your eyes and pretend you’re just flying along.

AWESOME!

    1. When I stick my head out the window of a moving car, I can’t breathe. The wind takes my breath away. Wonder how dogs do it.

  1. Ugh OMG in summer! When you do this! Just let the window open the tiniest bit and put your fingers up to the opening and get this rush of breeze on your fingers (because parents don’t like us putting anything out the actual window). Next best thing!

  2. I love doing this! Especially on a summer night driving down a country road. It brings back so many memories of my teenage years. Sniff sniff.

  3. I know the feeling! And this summer when 2 year old Noah was seated at the edge of the water, in the lake and discovered buoyancy…well, the look of surprise in his eyes and his sounds of joyful exaltation, as he marvelled in the miracle of limbs lifted naturally by water, was purely divine to share! Imagining flying…I think buoyancy is equally as awesome!

    1. “Hand surfing”, I like the way you put that! I can feel it! And I even think I could “get on board” with that! get it~hahahaha:)

  4. I love doing this. I also love sticking my head out of the car window. In summer when we go on vacation and rent a car, the car always has to have windows that roll all the way down. I will stand for nothing less. Anyway, I love sticking my hand out the window. Sometimes I do the “live long and prosper” Spock thing out the window to passing motorists, or sometimes Winston Churchill’s “V for victory” thing. Or “the peace sign” as the kids say.

  5. I am a 13 year old, so sticking my head out of the window is one of life’s greatest pleasures. This is one of my favorite awesome things.
