#901 Flipping through the entire bank of posters at the mall when you need to kill time

Have you ever needed to just kill some time at the mall?

Say your girlfriend’s doing rounds at La Senza, your parent’s called and said they’d be late picking you up, or the friend you’re waiting for is mopping floors at the food court to finish up their shift.

Well, that’s when flipping through the entire bank of posters at the back of the music store comes in handy.

Because seriously, there’s about fifty posters there, too. If you take your time and do it right, you can eat up ten or fifteen minutes reading the entire Periodic Table of Mixed Drinks or the 13 Different Types of Bowel Movements.

AWESOME!

  1. There really are some gems hidden in those stacks. My friend bought one that was a series of mock warning signs with the stick-figure. Things like “Don’t eat the yellow snow”. Random fun. ;)

  2. I haven’t done this since high school. I now go in the mall to get what I need and I’m out again. I don’t mosey like I used to. I do think that I will soon be looking through these again to get my daughter some posters.

  3. I didn’t know they still sold posters in stores. How fun! I had postered koalas all over my room (no wonder I never had a boyfriend in high school). I did have one marine poster, but I got it at a college fair. The guy in it was pretty hot!

    1. Oh yes they are still sold in most music stores.
I had a sister who dated a Hot marine! Your comments are tempting my far side!!!

      1. Maybe I don’t get out enough, but I can’t remember the last music store around here. A long-standing store where I used to live just recently closed, too. Music stores are becoming things of the past now that so much music is in the form of mp3s and can be downloaded online. I miss Sat. afternoons spent browsing the stacks at Woolworth’s or the mall. Heck, I’m still waiting for album covers to experience a resurgence…seriously!

    2. What a great blast from the past! Yeah, I didn’t know they still had poster banks either. Used to be such fun to browse, especially the movie posters! I always wanted to have a basement rec room and paper the walls with movie posters and call it my home theater.

  4. In glow in the dark, psychedellics, my fave is “Make Love Not War.”
Another is a child in a meadow of wild flowers says,
“Only in a world of love can we unfold and bloom.”
And then there’s the baby with the bowl of spaghetti over his head!
    Classics!

  5. I love looking at posters, but I’ve never seen one of these poster banks before. I need to go to the mall more.
