#853 When your microwave pops microwave popcorn perfectly

nuke-it-upWe’ve all been there.

Staring nervously into the microglow at the fat, puffed up bag of popcorn calmly spiralling in the center of the dish like no big deal. But it is a big deal, and you know it’s a big deal, because despite the puffbag’s straightface, there’s a minute left, the bag looks full already, the pops are slowing down already, and you just don’t know when to pull the plug.

It’s tense.

Stop too soon and you’ll enjoy some well-popped corn, but be left with a few handfuls of greasy, unpopped kernals at the bottom of the bag. Your stomach will rumble and you’ll either remain hungry or pop a second bag and overeat. Not cool.

Stop too late and you’ll enjoy some well-popped corn, but many kernals will be black and burnt, the bag will be smoky, and your fire alarm could have a fit. Not cool, either.

Yes, that’s why it’s so great when your microwave pops microwave popcorn perfectly. Either you grow to trust your dependable Popcorn Button or you slowly master the perfect time yourself, after a few bad bags.

But either way — how does it feel when you pull out that perfect, steaming bag?

AWESOME!

It's gonna blow

    1. GASP!!! You’ve NEVER popped a bag in your life??? I think its about time you get to making this list and start doing these things.

  1. I hate burnt popcorn. I hate the smell of it, I hate the way the rest of it tastes even if a little is burnt. Ew…that’s why you never walk away from the microwave with a bag of popcorn in it. When someone at work burns a bag, the entire floor smells like it.
Its probably been a year since I popped some popcorn and I do remember that I burnt some of it. I ate it anyway. It was gross, but I was really wanting some.
Perfectly popped popcorn is a task one must master. I have yet to do this perfectly. There’s either some burnt, or a lot of kernals left in the bottom of the bag.

    1. Burnt popcorn, def. Groase!
I just learned this 2 days ago: the bag actually says, this side up, this side down. I think the advice is for a perfect pop! I say it’s sure worth the try! A perfectly popped bag of popcorn rates up there with the top awesomes!

  2. We make our popcorn on the stove and originally I thought it would be much harder to get it popped just right, but instead it seems a lot easier. Which is really good because we go through a LOT of popcorn :)

    1. You are so right, Heather! It is easier to get it just right on the stove or in one of the old fashioned oil poppers. I miss my dad making us popcorn on a Saturday night…good times!

  3. We don’t do microwave popcorn that much, actually. We have this hady thing that lets us pop popcorn on the stove. I’ve popped bags of popcorn before, and thankfully they’ve always turned out perfect. Burned popcorn smells and tastes terrible.

  4. I just won a Pre-Popped bag of Orville Redenbocker popcorn from the pop and win! I imagine it will be perfect!

  5. Smell of popping corn or brewing coffee (even if you like it or not) is the best. And the taste of fresh popped corn is heavenly!

  6. It is perfect time to make some plans for the long run and it’s time to be happy. I have learn this submit and if I may I wish to recommend you few interesting issues or suggestions. Perhaps you can write next articles relating to this article. I desire to learn even more things approximately it!
