#839 Really good candy with your bill at a restaurant

andes-mints-at-olive-gardenMints are mints.

Sure, they can be circle or square, chewy or hard, powdery or smooth, but they’re still mints, man. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

But after a fat meal with friends, when your body’s Food-Chomping Engine is revving for some afterburn, there’s nothing sweeter than getting a surprise treat with your bill. Because let’s face it, paying for the meal is no fun. There’s all the who ordered what, all the mental math acrobatics, and all the tipping awkwardness. Plus, all this post-meal hub-bub happens at a cloudy table full of Garlic Breath and Beermouth.

Yeah, we need something to lighten the mood and the stench around here. Something like a handful Andes chocolates, a spoonful of candy-coated fennel seeds, or some good old-fashioned lollipops.

  1. THere’s a Mexican rest. here that serves Double-Bubble!
Table 24 has a variety of flavoured chocolate, such as Kalua, they make!
Chocolate wafer mints at the Home rest.
And Indian Palace serves the fennel candy…so these are my fav. restaurants…it’s like their thanks for dining with them:)

  2. Y’all must go out without your kids. Unless you have ninja like reflexes, my kids are the only ones to reap the rewards of bill related candy.

  3. I like it when you get fortune cookies at the end. This only seems to happen at Chinese places though. I think every place should give out fortune cookies. Or maybe just cookies.

    1. I love fortune cookies. I had a great one a couple weeks ago telling me to smile. It came during a really bad day and it really did make me smile.

Totally agree with ya, Max, every place should give out fortune cookies!!

    1. That is yummy! I’d like your restaurant! Seems most restaurants dish out mints, which I detest. I mean, who wants to eat something that tastes like a mouthful of toothpaste?! Bring on the plain chocolate…mmmmmm!
