#815 When you nudge the person snoring next to you and it makes them stop

It's either you or them. Nudge and move on.

Just tap that elbow in the rib cage a bit, maybe pat the belly, or if you’re feeling particularly brave, give a big kick to the back of the knees while loudly whispering Shhhhhh in their ears. If that still doesn’t work, it’s time to roll them on over, and don’t worry: if they wake up, it’ll just be for a second and they’ll never remember it tomorrow.

AWESOME!

  1. Since I’m awake unusually late, thought I’d check out the newest post. However, I’ve decided not to comment on it. I always enjoy reading bad guy lover’s first posts, so I won’t ruin that fun for everyone.

      1. Ahhh, see, I usually have the advantage. In Australia, these posts go live around 3pm or 4pm (I forget which).

Either way, I don’t have to slog it out until midnight! :D

  2. I always feel too guilty to outright wake a snoring person. Instead, I just roll over. Really, really, awkwardly, so the entire bed shakes. If they just HAPPEN to get startled awake as a result, then that’s just a coincidence…

    1. That works for me sometimes. When I’ve tried poking and kicking and he’s still snoring and asleep, I try rolling over and pulling on the blankets. Sometimes when I pull on the blankets, he gets all defensive and pulls them back and rolls over.

    2. I’m with you on this one. I roll over roughly, cough or clear my throat loudly, yank the blankets, etc. I didn’t necessarily INTEND to wake him, but if he does …”coincidence…” Usually always works! :)

    1. My daughter grinds her teeth at night. I can go in there and squeeze her cheeks together so she looks like a chipmunck and that usually makes her stop.

  3. Hubby has been snoring really loud lately! One night, I poked him, hoping he’d stop, but he just got louder. So I said to him, “Roll Over” and he said, “I’m already on the edge of the bed!” No No No…. I didn’t say scoot over, I said roll over. Most times when I kick or elbow him, he will roll over and stop snoring.

    1. Sounds aggressive to me! If i’d have done that with the ex, well, I don’t even want to think about the reprecussions! Yourhusband has probably been inhaling too much smoke or since this is all he “cooks”- eating too much pizza!
Personally, I think the best vice is Chinese water torture! Not that I’ve ever done it or anything….

  4. In some situations, nothing works. Try camping with a bunch of drunk Canadians! I could light a stick of dynamite and they’d snore on!

  5. I’ve never managed this before. I usually sleep by myself anyway, though. One day, I shall stop someone snoring. It is one of my many goals in life.

  6. My mother also snoors at nite so much that we all gets disturbed and we can’t sleep but in this type of unfortunate situation we have to deal in best possible manner snoring is a frustrating thing for the person who snoors in sleep and for the person who is awake. Hypnosis is the best treatment and by this treatment the person can get rid of this snooring problem.

  7. love that feel.
Although I have to admit that I’m the person people have to nudge since I am the deepest sleeper on earth.

  8. LOL.. “nudge” is an understatement. My ex used to snore *so loud*. I don’t know how I had put up with it for so long. Thank goodness the current love doesn’t snore. ^_^

  9. Hey there! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could
