#736 The smell of Play-Doh

Salty, sweet and a little bit oilySniff up some fumes and get ready for a brain cell party.

Yes, those sleeping memories from long ago will wake up and bounce and crash around your head as you close your eyes and let that salty-sweetness take you back to Kindergarten.

Pop open the memoriesFade to black and remember slightly greasy hands with bits in the fingernails, remember mixing all the colors together until they turned purple-brown, remember rolling out lots of cold lopsided worms, and remember the taste-test incident that resulted in a mouth full of salty chalk.

People, now there’s even a cologne to capture that smell for the ladies, so feel free to get your nostalgia on strong and spray down, my friends.

Yes, that smell of Play Doh takes us way back to the old school. If you’re sniffing up what we’re putting down, then you’re an old fool, who’s so cool. If you wanna get back, let us show you the way.

Whoomp, there it is.

Lemme hear you say.

AWESOME!

    1. I have the perfect recipe:
      21/2 cups flour
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (cannot be substituted with margarine)
      2 teaspoons Alum
      1 cup boiled water
let water cool until you can work the playdough into a ball. Break some into smaller parts, add food colouring. You can even add scents of your choice and voila, you have the best playdough in the world, for a great price and stored in a tupperware container lasts a long, long time:)
You’ll be the best aubty of all forever!!!

  1. Still love the scent of play-doh! I remember I tasted it, but it wasn’t nearly as tasty as paste. Ahhh, the days of constant taste & sniff tests! I have to mention that I was NOT a color mixer. I very carefully attempted to put colors back in their own tubs…that purple-brown lump annoyed me…LOL!

    1. When logging in to post my comments, I made a spelling error…the site gave me a new square for a minute ’til I corrected my error. It was a bright lime green quilt square…like an alternate universe where I met my doppelganger! :)

      1. Yeah, I’ve tried logging in with my new email and I get a real pretty blue square that looks almost like a snowflake… but I’m the green square and I will not leave it.

    2. Play-doh is kind of salty…. I actually tasted it quite recently. One of the kiddos made me a taco and just wasn’t satisfied until I tried it. And then they laughed at me.

  2. OH, play-doh. Nothing else smells like it and the smell brings back so many memories of me squishing it into the carpet, making ‘snakes,’ or rolling it up and throwing it at my brothers.
