#699 A long hug when you really need it

A warm hug when you need itSometimes we all get rattled.

When bad news surprises you, painful memories flash back, or heavy moments turn your stomach to Jell-O, it’s great to fall into a warm and comforting pair of big, wide open arms.

Shaking with sobs, dripping with tears, you snort up your runny nose and smear snot across their shoulder as that hug relaxes you and comforts you and helps you get through everything, even for a minute, even for a moment.

Maybe there are ‘It’s going to be okay’ whispers, some gentle back-rubbing, or just the quiet silence of knowing that they’re not going to let go until you let go first. As their steady arms support you, and the pain washes over you, the hug gives you a warm glow in a shivery moment.

So when you eventually pull back, smile that classic ‘I’m sorry and thank you‘ smile, and swipe wet bangs off your forehead, you still might not feel great, but if you’re lucky you feel a little more

AWESOME!

(Hi everybody, there is a new announcement in the Book section.)

    1. Keep on coming back and smiling, you will know peace and joy. We understand and support you, with love and hugs, in spirit, Wendy:)

  2. I used to be a big hugger. I’d hug to say hi, but after I got married, it came to a stop. I like to make hubby stop what he’s doing and give me a hug. My son loves to give hugs and his are always tight. My daughter on the other hand, you have to hold her down to get a hug out of her!

  3. Oh I love this…. I love bear hugs, I hate feeble hugs, especially from those giving them to others! I have needed a few really good hugs in the past few weeks, and I have had willing, open arms each time… When I see my best friend for the first time in months I will be an absolute mess but I know I will have his strong arms to comfort me and say it’s alright, I’m here again!

  4. There’s nothing like a good hug.

…I totally got a hug from Tobuscus on Sunday. Those of you who know who he is will find that appropriately AWESOME.

  5. I was in need of a hug in a really big way the other day and you may all find this funny but first hug I received was from a horse, then another and a third, all hugged me in their own special ways: one tapped my heart with his velvetty nose, another wrapped his neck around mine and the third was nibbling on my shoulder while all formed a circle around me, considered to be the greatest hug a herd can give! Then I went to my daughter’s house and my ten month old grand-son wrapped his wee arms around my neck and snuggled into my heart…for what seemd like eternity…he knew too~best ever!!!

    1. He’s 10 months already? Wow, times flies. I swear you JUST told me that he was born.
I’ve never had a hug from a horse, but your comment made me want one
