#500 Making it halfway

Maybe you’re running on the treadmill when you catch the clock tick past the middle of your sweaty jog. Maybe you’re reading late at night and notice you’re on the middle page where the left and right sides form one big rectangle of paper. Or maybe you’re on a long Sunday drive to visit a hometown friend when you pass that rusty gas station halfway down the highway.

Yes, it sure is sweet making it halfway anywhere. It means you got started, you gave it a shot, and now you’re doing it, baby.

When you make it halfway take a moment to smile and enjoy where you’re at. Because sure, there’s a lot in that rearview mirror, but there’s so much around the bend, too.

AWESOME!

We’re halfway there, everybody. Thank you sincerely for reading. – Neil

“Hi Neil, I was so excited to finally get the book of awesome and I was even MORE excited to get to one of my favorite entries – Your Colon.  Not only is it hilarious, but it also brings back some wonderful memories of reading the blog. I’m so excited to finally have a copy.  It is truly AWESOME!” – Andrea

  1. A motgivating discussion is definitely worth comment.
I belioeve that you nesd to publish more on this topic,
it might not bee a taboo matter but usually olks don’t
speak about such topics. To the next! Many thanks!!

  2. So, the other day I realized that I’m inching closer to 30…which is halfway to 60. 60! When you’re young, you don’t see yourself getting anywhere past 21, but now I’m past halfway to 50 and I’m almost halfway to 60. I’m not ready. It freaks me out. My kids are growing up and I just want to freeze them right where they are so they don’t. I’m content having them stay 9 and 3 forever.

  3. I forgot how wonderful and powerful half way can be. It’s what got me through both of my marathons – if I made it to the half way of a training run or halfway through THE run I could totally reason that stopping was a waste and since I already accomplished the worst part (at least in my opinion the first half is the worst) finishing that next half would be easy and besides I owed myself the sweet victory of finishing the second half!
