Jumbo snowflakes falling thick and heavy on Christmas Eve is a special sight. They blur the world for a moment and lay a fresh blank canvas over everything. So if you’re sitting inside listening to carols on the radio, munching Christmas cookies, or chatting with family and friends, take a moment to look out the window and just enjoy the scene.
AWESOME!

Aint it the truth. Merry Christmas.
A suggestion for #866: The Christmas Afterglow. It’s that moment during the nighttime on Christmas when the family leaves, the presents are all opened, and you have a time to relax. It’s over, and it feels…AWESOME.

I can only take your word on this one. Never ever experienced it. Tomorrow (Christmas Day) I will drive 5 minutes to the beach at the eastern most point of Australia and walk in the sand, body surf with the local dolphin pod and feel the sun on my shoulders.
When I was a child, I used to stick my head in the freezer to try to get the concept of snow, but I don’t quite think it’s what you described.
Rug up warm and have a great day tomorrow.

lol, I remember the first time I heard the term “Rug up” from a teacher on exchange from Australia. I totally thought it was a dirty phrase lol. Being born and raised in Canada, I have to say…going to the beach on Christmas sounds AWESOME!

Haha, yay a fellow Aussie on this site! i am on the other side of the country tho. Yes i am a primitive West Australian.
OMG kittie do canadians seriously not use the term ‘rug up’? i thought it was universal… I shall see the snow in… exactly 30 days from now, and I guess i will just have to make do with Christmas in July ;) (oh god that reminds me of EOFYS… dont get me started)

It’s 50s and raining here. We rarely have snow on Christmas anymore. Snow dances have no effect. :(

Unless the only thing that is falling from the sky is ice! Plus After Christmas it’s supposed to get round 50-60 here in Indiana

Snow on Christmas eve is wonderful! I’m afraid this year we’ll probably have a slightly soggy Christmas as we’re supposed to have freezing rain here in CT..but that shouldn’t wash away the huge blanket that fell over the weekend :)

Snow on Christmas eve really is an awesome thing. Fresh snowfall, generally, is awesome, but there’s something MORE awesome about falling snow in the quiet night before Christmas. However, when I was a little boy, it was a HUGE worry for me that Santa would not find his way in the snow. Somehow, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer never really figured large in my worldview. It was all about landing lights on the roof.

These last few awesome things have had to do with harsh winter weather…how about driving behind a plow truck and being the first to experience the freshly plowed road? now in buffalo, ny, my friends, THAT is AWESOME!

Do you live in Wisconsin? Because we just got a dumping of snowflakes the size of Ping Pong balls!
The coincidence is freaky.

Kate,
Thanks for the heads up. Know I know that I have to shovel my driveway when I get back to Wisconsin.

I love big snowflakes on Christmas Eve. Out here though on Long Island, it usually turns to rain quickly.

I’m dreaming of a White Christmas. Unfortunately, I live and Florida and I can only hope of a cold front.

Here in Los Angeles, California we don’t get snow. Neither can we go to the beach because it is too cold. =_C it is so sad
