#852 The smell of the coffee aisle in the grocery store

Sniff it up

Harsh fluorescent lighting, slushy wet floors, and the cloudy stench of raw fish welcome you into your friendly, neighborhood grocery store. After circling tables of green bananas, wobbly chick pea towers, and piles of day-old bagels, it’s kind of nice to stumble upon the coffee aisle and just take a big sniff.

AWESOME!

  1. Never have I smelled raw fish or seen towers of chickpeas in any of MY local, friendly grocery stores.. I’m wondering if you frequent Super 88..

What the heck is a chickpea “tower”? Like a stack of canned chickpeas?

That is the best smell ever. Even if I am not in the mood for coffee, I instantly want to have a cup of java right then. Great post

Right! Sometimes I’ll stop by the grocery store on my way home at 2AM and I just walk through that aisle. It’s so comfortable.

I will pull down ever-so-slightly on the lever to make just one coffee bean come out and hold it in my hands while I shop. Then my hands smell great later! =)

THERE WAS BEAN OVERFLOW AND I TRIED ONE AND IF U HAVE B4 U KNOW HOW BITTER AND BAD THEY ARE. MY DAD LAGUHED AT ME AS I BEGGED HIM FOR THE BOTTLE OF WATER HE HAD IN HIS HAND, (HE DIDN’T)

Second only to the smell of a freshly opened bag of your favourite coffee beans, throwing some in the grinder and filling the house with the smell of fresh silt. Next, brew…..and…..(Only a coffee drinker knows what comes next!)

  22. I love the smell of the coffee isle (don’t like to drink it though!)

Yes, this is a great experience and so is this:
Best coffee in the world, (well in B.C. anyway), so much we order in and when we open the mail box upon delivery, mmmmmmmmmm, it’s Nelson’s,
    “OSO NEGRO!”
