  1. …and donating it to “In from the cold”, Women’s shelter’s, Foster parents and other such program’s in need of such free stuff:)

    1. That’s a nice idea, too :)

My dad was in the hospital recently and gave me his “goodie bag” of travel-size things (toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, dry shampoo, deodorant, etc.) and I put it in my prize box at school. A lot of the kids in my class actually need those things, so at least they have the chance to choose it if they need it!

    2. Wendy, that is an awesome thing to do! My brother travels a lot for work, and he does the same thing.

  2. Oh yeaaaah! Free shampoo, conditioner, showercap and soap bar. All organic (minus the cap) and scented with lemon-grass!

    Mmm…

  3. OMG YES!!!!
On our honeymoon we took everything from every hotel we went to.
shampoo, conditioner, hair elastic, soaps, shower caps, sewing kits, ear buds, floss, coffee, tea, sugar…. !! twas awesome!

Oh & especially at our last hotel in tahiti, we had daily room service so every night we would pack away the soap, shampoo, conditioner (which weren’t small and crapper either!) & tea & coffee, so the next day it was all replenished!
We went home with the shopping bag full of stuff! – We’re currently still using the stuff at home now & has saved us a lot of money on buying shampoo & conditioner which we havent needed yet!

Hell yes to saving money after having a wedding to pay for! :D

    1. That’s great! I love it when they do something special for you as well – did you get any special service for your honeymoon?

I booked a hotel for 3 nights for my birthday. On the morning of my birthday I was really lucky to receive free chocolates and a card from the staff! They were my favourite kind of choccies too – Lindt! Mmm :)

      1. Oh yes! Lindt chocolate really is the best! Actually in sydney there is a Lindt Chocolate cafe & I just went there last sunday for my mums birthday & its AMAZING! Best Hot chocolate i’ve ever had!

And yes we got a bottle of champange at most hotels, but mind you neither my husband or I are big champagne drinkers, so we only had 3 mouthfuls max of each bottle!
Oh & one gave us a box of macaroons as well which were so good too! :)

Oh & I just remembered! One hotel wrote out in little sticks on our bed when we got there ‘Welcome Michael & Simone” & had little flowers all around it! – was so thoughtful!

        1. Ohh that’s beautiful! :)

I wonder if there’s a Lindt Cafe in Brisbane… If there is a God then there HAS to be one… Has to!

    1. I have a problem. I LOVE all things stationery. Pens, markers, pencils, papers, envelopes, cards, etc. I’m with you — I love the pens and paper!!

      1. Yeah! I stayed in a Westin in Anaheim, and I still have the sticky notes hanging around… as well as my key card. I forgot it in my wallet, but it’s too cute to throw out.
Also, a hotel I stayed at in San Francisco had door hangers that said ‘earning sleep credits– please come back later’ on one side, instead of the typical ‘do not disturb’ sign. You can bet I took that! :D

  4. And they’re all travel-size things … travel-size things are so fun! And convenient! And you can stockpile them at your house to take with you the next time you travel just incase you don’t stay with someone whose shower products you can sample (#905).

  5. Take a ziplock sandwich bag or two with you when you travel. They are great for things like wet, half-used bars of soap.

    1. I always try to keep a mental note to do that and then I forget u_u I usually take plastic bags with me anyhow, but zip-locks are better. Great suggestion durls :)

  6. We stayed in The Four Seasons in Maui during our honeymoon. Needless to say, this was a once in a lifetime type of situation for us. We probably will never stay anywhere that posh ever again.
At The Four Seasons, the soaps and shampoos were all made by L’Occitane. If you are not familiar with it, it is very nice, very high end stuff. We would stash it all away morning, noon and night in our suitcase, as we had housekeeping service in the morning, AND in the early evening around dinner time AND turndown service every night. So three times a day this stuff was replenished and three times a day we stashed it. Once we were home, we carried on that luxury as long as we could…..

    1. Exactly what I was thinking, no wonder hotels are so expensive, and I can’t afford a nice fancy hotel for a break!

  7. Complimentary double ended dildoes! Just be sure to put it in the dishwasher when you get back.
