#811 Getting off an airplane after a long flight

Relief comes when this ends

BO clouds dissipate and float away, wailing babies quit wailing at the luggage bay, your cell phone works so you call friends up, say hey, and all your scrunched up, bunched up, hunched up muscles just relax as you stretch them out now, feeling A-okay. You’re out of the window seat, out of the aisle, you’re back on two feet, so just walk away and smile.

AWESOME!

  1. I don’t think I’ve ever been on a plane for longer than two hours…

But a friend just visited from America, and she certainly seemed delighted to get the heck off!

    1. I’ve only ever been on a plan twice and both were under 3 hours. I hope in the future to make very long trips to many places! My son is heading to Sri Lanka next month, so that’ll be a l-o-n-g plane ride…from take-off to landing, including the time difference, around 30 hours or so!

  2. My best friend can surely appreciate this one this week. Yesterday she started her long journey from West Virginia to Australia. She drove to Pittsburg, flew to Detroit-the plane was delayed leaving Detroit by 2 hours. Then to LA where she missed her flight to Australia and now has to wait until tonight.
    Me… I’ve never been on a plane.

  3. I love planes. I could spend my whole vacation on the plane ride alone. I get comfy and don’t want to move. But I’m like that in most situations.

  4. The longest flight I was ever on was to Europe… a LONG time ago! I think it was a 14 hour flight and my ears were plugged for the first 3 days, which was more painstakingly gruelling than the flight!
Last June on the flight to Disneyland, a wee one cried the entire flight…3 hours! The kind of cry that said she was in excruciating pain and I really felt for her and her parents. I don’t think babies should go on airplanes.

  5. That’s kinda the only thing about flying that I like. I love the destination, but hate the journey. At least if the journey is by plane. I like trains, though. And cars are OK. Boats are fun too. Just something about those planes. They’d probably be more fun if I got to fly the plane.

  7. This was posted a day after I had a plane ride! It was only 3 1/2 hours but there were two 3-4 year old annoying kids behind me and the guy next to me, kicking our seats the entire time. Luckily the two guys in the seats next to me were really cool and interesting so we had good conversation, and luckily I had my ipod and homework to do, but I couldn’t block the sound of the kids’ screaming as we were descending… And they picked up my Beats earphones pouch too and I asked the mother to check if they had it but she didn’t do anything about it. Ugh. Anyway, so glad that flight was over and glad to get my luggage because my best friend was meeting me for the first time when he picked me up from the airport :D
