Hey there, neighbor. Thanks a lot for paying for that massive, expensive pool! Great job installing it, heating it, chlorinating it, vacuuming it, and skimming it. You sure it’s cool if I take you up on that offer to swing by for a quick dip?
AWESOME!

A tight hug from a friend that needs no words to accompany it. You both know what it’s for.
Mornings. Love my cup of coffee with the old fashioned newspaper. Then my trip to the gym, hopefully it’s a yoga class day.
A smile, that was meant just for me, makes me happy.
Waking up each morning with my husband of 44 years by my side always make my day start off wonderful.
I’d love to have a neighbor with a pool! Next time I house hunt, that would be at the top of my list. haha :)
My morning run makes me happy. As a wife, a mom, and a teacher, it’s easy to feel owerwhelmed, but waking up first thing in the morning and having that peaceful time alone gives me a great start to my day.
Nap!
Baking!
Gardening!
Reading!
Oh my goodness, I come back today and there’s already 60 comments on this one. I need to stop taking days off!
Ok, neighbors with pools…. I can’t really appreciate this to the fullest because I’m not a water person. Now, a neighbor with a pool table is a different story.
And what do I do to make me happier? Anything with my kids. Hug them, kiss them, help them with homework or chores, run through the house, blow bubbles, bake cookies together, paint, cuddle, watch cartoons, dance, sing…….. my kids are what make me happiest.
Chocolate also makes me happy. And Cafe Mocha’s always brighten my day. Hearing my favorite song on the drive home….. napping whenever possible…oh and one I just did for the first time in years on Monday… cook for my Mom.
Cup of coffee with my friend…
when the house is really dirty because playing took priority all summer long, which started in June, now leaves are changing, sunsets are lower, dust bunnies running prevalent, so I crank the stereo and clean… Next sunset,,, sparkly house!!! This makes me happy:)
I have a pool, and so does my neighbor. We’re both awesome! Anyway, there’s actually a lot of people in my neighborhood with pools.
Thinking to myself, “Hmmm, gotta find out where Max lives so I can move into that awesome pool-owning neighborhood!” LOL!
A good conversation always makes me happy!
Spending an evening sitting in bed with my teenage daughter reading next to me, my teenage son playing his DS at the foot of the bed, and our dog snoring at the foot of the bed. King size beds … how could we live without them!
Going to the gym with my kids and them not being embarrassed by me wearing spandex pants with a matching top. Maybe I’m not too old to look cool after all.
Making stemming and seeding concord grapes for jam a family affair. There’s no such thing as too many cooks in our kitchen.
One thing I do to make myself happier: sending my deployed Navy Sailor care packages filled with happiness!
It’s made me happier to FINALLY land a job in my field, almost 16 months after graduating with my MSW degree. I worked at a bakery/cafe for 13 of those months–not what it took me more than 5 years and thousands of dollars of tuition/books/supplies/equipment/travel expense to prepare for!
Congratulations! I’msure you’llmake an amazing difference:)
I got my MSW last year, too! Congrats to you!
Fall is in the air… I’m very happy…
One thing that makes me happier: being the neighbor with the pool (except I’m waaaaaay to lazy to heat it…..
You don’t have to heat it, I’d still like to be that half-arsed neighbor who comes over to scrounge pool time. Also, you have a really cool ID! Makes me smile every time I read it! :)
One things that makes me happy is receiving a card or letter in the mail. I love snail mail!
Oh, Me TOO! It’s so much more like they are right there with a real hug!
Sometimes I can even smell their special scent.I have a friend who wears patchoulli and burns sweetgrass and sage. She has never touched a computer but has organic gardens and a healing haven. I love the scent of her letters and her hand-writing exudes health, wellness and good tiding’s!
a dear friend gets out of the shower, bends over to towel dry her hair, young daughter says,”Mommy, you look like you’re milking a cow!”
*Kids seeing and saying the most innocent, funniest things, makes me very happy!!!
Telling a new joke every day to my classes and watching them ‘get it.’
I own my own business. It’s just a small one-person operation, and money is tight. I get by and I pay myself, and I don’t need much more than that. But I can’t afford things like expensive advertising and professional web design or promotional stuff that costs mega-bucks. I have to save several months to be able to afford a class that I want to take. So when someone comes along and OFFERS to help me with one or more of the above things without charge, and INSISTS on doing it, I am extremely grateful and happy. Awesome!
Another thing that makes me fantastically happy is helping pout a friend who needs it!
I nap with my cat as often as I can. That makes me verrrry happy. :)
Driving down the streets and stopping at cross-walks or stop-signs, waiting for pedestrians to cross – and watching them wave their hands at me and say thank you very softly. AWESOME
Realizing that you can say “No” to committment requests, guilt-free!
Choi Kwang Do (CKD) martial art training – for health, fitness and self defense – and great friends in this network!
I figure skate. The arena is my happy place.
An earlier post reminded me of when my mom read to me as a child. I wish I had someone to read to me now sometimes. Would be so fun to cuddle up in bed and listen while someone reads…ahhhh. Is there an entry on the list for this one? Sounds familiar. A happy thing for me was reading to my class…especially any of the poems from Where The Sidewalk Ends. The kids in my learning support class loved them and laughed like crazy! I really miss this. Seems like maybe I need to find someone to read to again…and maybe someone who’ll read to me!
Something that makes me happy…talking to my cat as I do my daily household stuff. I talk to her as I go and it makes me laugh at myself.
Oh, when my boyfriend or his son remember to put a new roll of tp in the bathroom…wow, imagine that, the tp fairy must’ve been here cuz the tp’s been refilled!
When I awake in the AM, I read an inspiring quote on my cellphone. I also set the alarm to go off during the day to remind me to read some life affirming statements I’ve programmed. Smile!
I have to once again say, reading the posts from everyone makes me happy. They remind me of the many things for which I have to be grateful! I find myself reading them, saying to myself, “Oh yeah, right, I love that, too!” “I never thought of that!” “That’s so inspiring!” “Hilarious!”
My friend (not-a-neighbor-but-pretty-close) letting me use her pool this summer to do my phys. therapy exercises!
What really makes me happy is when I know someone is thinking about me at the same time I’m thinking about them, so they text me or something while I’m about to do the same, on that exact moment!
