Well, they might not be named after you specifically. Maybe they just happen to have the same name. But then again, who knows really? I mean, all we know for sure is that your names match and you were born first.
AWESOME!

My niece’s name is a combination of my and my mum’s names. Pretty AWESOME. :D
My cousin named her daughter a combination of her sister’s first and middle names. Katie Lynn is her sister and her daughter is Kaitlyn
Hahaha the other day I was talking to my best friend Hannah in homeroom and I burst out with “OO OMG! I just remembered something I decided the other day!!” and she said jokingly “What, you’re naming all your kids after me?” and I was like, “Well, one of them.” and she was very surprised and honoured! I’m only 16 but I’ve got all my three kids’ names worked out :D Now just to finish school, go to uni, find a husband, get pregnant and convince him….
When I was 16, I had one heck of a list of names that I loved.
When I was 20, I realised that I hate children. o__O
Haha, well, I at least don’t want any of my own. So now I have a huge list and nothing to name… Except cats and book characters. :)
Haha oh wow, well I can’t wait to be a mother! Well, I mean obviously I can, because I want to go to uni/get a job/get married first, but I definitely want to :)
I had a list of names before I was 16. I knew I wanted kids really early in life.. I did have my first one when I was young, but its what I’m meant to do with my life… Have kids and love them. I didn’t get to name any of my kids what were on my list. My top boy and girl names were
Cody Alexander and Asilia Rose. I was pushing hard for Alexander as the middle name for my second child, but when I was in labor and on all those drugs, hubby talked me into another name. I don’t regret it. It fits him just fine.
Wait till you’re 35!
I don’t think I know any kids with my name, really.
I was totally against naming my kids after anyone I knew. It was hard because I know a lot of people. My daughter was kinda easy-Lillian Suzette. Lilies are my favorite flower so Lillian was a no brainer. Then Suzette mean lily in French. So I named her Lilly Lily!!
My son, we had fights over his name. Hubby wanted to name him after his grandpa and I didn’t want to name him after anyone. Especailly grandparents. I didn’t want to honor one and not the other, ya know. Lilly picked out Zachary for his first name and I was set on Alexander, but at the last minute hubby brought up David…which is his name, and his dad’s name, and his mom’s brother’s name… and I was in pain and on so many drugs I didn’t care. Zachary David was decided about an hour before he was born. Suits him fine, especially since he looks just like his daddy.
Names we had picked out for Zach before we decided on Zach were-
Benjamin (my favorite)
Michael
Neil-awesome name
Asher was in the running too, but a friend of mine name his kid that.
Nicholas
There was a time when some books changed the real meaning behind my nam and many women were changing theirs b/c they thought it would change their lives and maybe it did. I managed to change my life and not my name, honouring an awesome man and his stories:
When I hear someone calling their child, “Wendy!” I smile inside, somehow feel a connection and wish all good things for the child’s life.
Then my heart wanders to Sir James Matthew Barrie, author, playwrite and dramatist, who created the name from Gwendolyn for his little neighbor friend, he nick-named his, “Friendy-Wendy” and then went on to use this in Peter Pan and Neverland. I think of pirates and lost boys; tree forts, Tinkerbell and pixie dust. “Neverland”~ the true story! Fire flies and the awesome food fight on “Hook!” Oh the magic!
“Think of a wonderful thing, any happy little thing…you can fly, you can fly, you can fly!”
We named our DD after Carl Sagan. Carl Sagan should be on the list of 1000 Awesome things!
I usually only meet dogs and the occasional cat with the same name as me. Max just isn’t a popular people-name, I guess. It’s always confusing when I’m outside and someone walking their dog will say, “Max, here boy!” or something. Me and the dog always whirl around at the same time to look at the person, and sometimes I get that “what are you doing?” look.
Well, if it makes you feel any better, the word “yes” is dangerously close to Jess. I’ve been known to spin around when someone merely answers a question in the affirmative…
Everytime I hear a kid say mom, I’m looking around.
At least I’m not the only one. Thanks Bekah and lovethebadguy!
I’ve always thought Max is such a cool name! It makes me think of those cool types in the old film noirs…like the really handsome private detective who’s investigating the murder…mysterious…sharp-dressed…aloof…a chick magnet!
Yep, that’s me.
I’ve had someone name their doll specifically after me! Equally AWESOME.
man that would be so awesome when someone names a baby after me :$
ill feel like its godmother :O
ohwells back to gaming at Girl Games :>
It is customary in our Palestinian (and Arab) culture for the eldest son to name his first male offspring after his father. Being the eldest son of the eldest son of the eldest sone .. etc, my son’s name is Ayoub Yacoub Ayoub Yacoub Ayoub Yacoub Rabah
AWESOME!
That’s remarkable! Your son has quite the pair of shoes to fill! :)
I always look up when someone says generally… my name is Jenna. A cow was actually named after me! ;) Lol…
