Lazing around in crumpled sheets, sun streaking through the blinds, your eyes slowly blink open and your lips curl into a slow smile. You make some deep, grunting noises as you twist your back and stretch your neck.
You smile and enjoy the soft and slow process of waking up after sleeping in on a weekend morning. You glance casually at the alarm clock, you stare at the ceiling, flip your pillow, and roll around in Sheetworld.
Then it hits you.
Nose twitching, brain sniffing, you catch faint fumes of sizzling bacon drifting up from the kitchen. Can it be? Is this why you woke up? You bunny-sniff again and this time you’re positive, you’re certain, you’re sure.
Bacon!
It smells like mom’s cooking breakfast. It smells like a sunny Sunday sleep-in. It smells like pajamas and a fresh paper. It smells like little white grease bubbles in a crispy black frying pan.
And it smells a lot like
AWESOME!

I used to hate bacon, but I’m a big fan of it now. I don’t know how that happened… But anytime I wake up to the smell of anything cooking… and I’m not the one cooking, that’s always awesome… unless the kids are in the kitchen burning something, then that’s time for concern and a quick jump out of bed.

I’m not sure I trust anyone who doesn’t eat bacon and I’m definitely skeptical of anyone who doesn’t love the smell of cooking bacon. I mean, I’m not sure you’re human! I do understand that vegans aren’t into it, but if you’re a carnivore, c’mon, give bacon a try. BTW, I make the very best bacon ever! Seriously, I can cook bacon to perfect crispness and flavor. I add a secret ingredient and everyone adores my bacon. If everyone at the blog came over and we had the world’s biggest slumber party, I’d cook you all bacon in the morning. :) You’re welcome!
for my daughter bacon is akin to heaven on earth, she LOVES waking up to bacon cooking.
