Full boxes of granola bars, fresh mix tapes, and the heady thrill of anticipation get your body ready for a nice long ride.

Hey everybody,
It’s he-ere! Yes, the 2014 Page-A-Day Calendar of Awesome has arrived! This one’s got over 30% new material and I’ve asked for a special coupon code for readers of 1000 Awesome Things. If you live in the US and want to snag 25% of your calendar and free shipping, just order from this link on the Chronicle Books website and use the coupon code AWESOME.
Neil
p.s. Unfortunately, the page-a-day calendar sold out well before Christmas the past two years so grab one soon if you’re feeling it. I sincerely appreciate the support and through projects like the calendar you’ve got my word I’ll always keep this blog ad free.

Few things have changed, except now instead of fresh mix-tapes it’s fresh mix-flash mini drives!
I still have some of old mix-tapes a friend made for me decades ago!
If by “boxes of granola bars” you mean “Roll-Ups and Vanilla Coke”, and by
“fresh mix tapes” you mean “that recently updated playlist on your iPod called ‘Car Songs'”, then I’m right there with you, bud!
I haven’t really been on a road trip in a long time. The longest trip lately is to visit mom, and its only an hour away.

I LOVE road trips with the right lot of people, music, games, good food and a destination for all the right reasons…happy reasons! :)
Road trips are fantastic, assuming the kids are home or well behaved in the car. Don’t settle for highway/interstate all the time, the side roads are where you find the most fun.
