I have been writing down 1 awesome thing a day for almost 20 years.

Awesome things can simple, free, universal, snappy, idiosyncratic, nostalgic, silly, joyous, poignant, or even bittersweet.

I have never been writing from a place of mastery – just one of looking and learning

I recently read the 1995 classic ‘Thoughts Without a Thinker’ by Mark Epstein.

He writes:

I was talking to my friend Dede last week when she mentioned she was on her way to Sarasota to have lunch with her dad.

"Your dad?"

"Yeah, my dad. He's 96."
