  1. I don’t know the etiquette for posting possible awesome things, but I would like to propose:

Playing sport under obviously ridiculous conditions. Ping-pong under monsoon rain, soccer in the shallow waves, frisbee in a blizzard, that kind of thing.

Things that remind you of lost loved-ones. And make you remember how good it was to know them.

Finding a use for something you kept “because it will be useful someday”. Your partner may have bullied you to throw it out for a decade, but that makes it all the more satisfying when your daughter uses that old bike wheel or bottle of sulphuric acid for a school project.

Stumbling on a great new blog and not remembering how you got there. Just like me, here.

  2. cherry blossoms

when you are really scared to do something, and then you do it and it’s not so bad

    coke with fresh lemons/limes

when you can’t find your dog, and you yell COME, and he does

when a paycheck is more than you thought it would be

when you check your facebook at the end of the day, and lots of posts wishing you a happy birthday

when you have a strong food craving, and then you get it

after you cry, when you are tired and relaxed

watching an entire season of a show in one sitting

when you have the perfect outfit for an important occasion

watching a movie when you are the only person at the theater

when costumer service people on the phone are helpful and nice

    unexpected presents

  3. Those days when nothing can bring you down! When you are so filled with optmism and hope and love, and just feel…appreciated. Those days are Awesome :)

When the lyrics of a song seem like they were written just for you

Getting mail when you are away at school! Seriously, it always makes my day :)

  4. Being well treated by a mexican cop that dosen’t ask you for a bribe (yak…. that’s only a dream it doesn’t happen at all). Regards from Mexico City.

  5. feeling patriotic. let it be during the World cup or any other type of country competitions.

or having a game connect you with strangers. that feeling of unison you feel among the people within your team.

its pretty much the same feeling for both. so lovely…

  6. Remembering your locker combination from high school.
Now I don’t remember mine per se. I remember my best friends. My locker during my last year was a little broken and the lock didn’t work, but I ran her combo past her the other day and it put a big smile on her face and it took us to a world of memories.

  7. what I read, I found very interesting, AND, yes, it got my mind working…again. They do say that 60 yrs. is a good time to start again…and again…and again…LV it JD

  8. Just found this site and am in love with it already. I’m so excited because there are so many awesome things that I haven’t read about yet!!!

  9. Make up your bed and then let you fall on the fresh straightened sheets and destroy everything again. Best feeling ever!

  10. I remember as a child opening a new box of crayons and reveling in the fact that they all had sharp points for just me.

  11. Looking at the clock when it gives the time that corresponds to the date of your birthday, no doubt my favorite thing to do, but only if it happens randomly, not forced that is just cheating and nobody likes a cheater

  12. Dude, there’s one thing that totally belongs on this list. When you’re checking out a chick, she catches you, and then gives you a little smile. Bitchin’.

  13. Saturday afternoon nap & going to bed on a really cold night. The bed is freezing cold. After 20 minutes you manage to warm up the spot that your body occupies and your fearful of moving off of it.

  14. i’m new to the site so i apologize if these two have already been suggested, but i’d like to add:

-the first bite into food, b/c it’s perfect and soooo yummy… and also the last bite b/c you put that one perfect piece aside b/c you want to leave your mouth tasting like that alllll dayyyy

-not only the smell of puppies, b/c i saw that was already mentioned, but the smell of babies!!!! i love sniffing their heads!!! AND finding their soft spot on the top of their heads…AWESOMEEEE

  15. Taking your glasses off for a few minutes then putting them back on. It makes the world look that much crisper and beautiful.

I love doing that at work.

  16. Neil, love the book, like the look of the cover, but I wrecked it the first time I touched it! My hands were warm and so they smeared all over the cover! Now I’m reading it naked….i.e. without its cover! It’s still awesome.

  17. How my son looks forward to sheet washing day, I warm up his quilt in the dryer right before bed so it’s toasty when he gets under his sheets.

  18. 1) I’m all for eating a new food and finding not only does it not taste bad, but you like it and it becomes a new favorite.

    2) Playing house rules on Monopoly where money spent on properties and the like goes into a pot, and being the first to finally land on Free Parking and get it all after many tense runs around the board. Ka-ching!

    3) Answering puzzles and questions on gameshows before the contestants on the TV do. Especially if it’s a high-stakes question. I’m a millionaire! I’m a milliona-..oh, I’m at home. Oh well. Bonus if family members are around and they are impressed by you.

    4) New baby smell. The smell of new and baby powder.

    5) Pressing your ear to a cat’s side when they purr and hearing it up-close while feeling the rumbling against the side of your face.

    6) Throwing yourself onto a pile of fresh-from-the-dryer laundry. Smells of clean and so warm and toasty, cooled down just enough from carrying the load from the dryer to wherever you place it so it isn’t too hot.

  19. I have a couple :)

    1) Finding random pieces of my dog’s hair in my dorm room even though she’s three states away.

Every time I find a piece of her hair I smile and think about how in a little while I’ll be back home to see her again. A kinda gross little reminder, but a reminder nonetheless. <3

    2) The feeling after you've made something completely unique.

Today I maid two pair of earrings and a necklace (Necklace and one pair of earrings for my friends, the last pair of earrings for me) and I couldn't help but feel kinda proud that I made something nobody else will ever replicate. Similar feeling to whenever I finish a painting. It's completly unique and totally me.

    3) When people compliment you on something you didn't expect to be complimented on.

Recently, I wrapped my headphones in string (think of friendship bracelets with the little knots that look like 4's before you pull them tight) cause I was bored of the plain white cord and annoyed that my headphones were constantly tangled. Ever since then I've been getting friends and even complete strangers commenting on my headphones. :) I've made a few of these for my friends as well, which is another great feeling.

    4) Looking at photos from a concert or vacation and realizing you took a great shot you were'nt even aware of.

After one concert I attended in 2007, I was looking through my 200+ pictures and came across this amazing shot of the guitarist standing on the catwalk, holding his guitar. The light hit the neck of the guitar in a really cool way that left him in a sillhouette with a cone of light shining down on him, as if it were coming from the guitar. I honestly have no idea how I got that shot, but I adore it. <3

  20. My stepdad’s favorite…..

The backwards baby wave…..they have the idea right, but instead of their palm facing you, they wave to themselves…..he melts every time he sees this…so awesome and so cute….

  21. Having my friends over for dinner and watching as they savor every bite of food.
Getting the praise for a good meal.
    The smell of pencil shavings.
Standing in the card aisle and crying or laughing at the cards I’m reading.
Definitely waking up and knowing by the glow from outside that it has snowed in the night.
Love this blog-the whole idea. Awesome. Can’t stop smiling!

    1. quitting your job and moving to a different country live with the person you love more than anyone in the world

  22. Oh, I’m so upset. I thought of a really good one last night right before falling asleep but I was just too lazy to get up and write it down. I told myself that I would remember it…..well……I didn’t. So this is just my spot on the list where my idea of an awesome thing should be.

  23. Thinking of someone right before they call or text you!…AWESOME!

Hearing the thunder and the light pitter-pat of rain falling!….SO AWESOME!

Finding someone to share your dreams with…AWESOME!

  28. when kids get the name of something wrong – but their version actually makes a lot more sense… my daughter still calls cupboards – “covereds” and who didn’t think a garter snake was really a “gardener” snake?
    So awesome.

  29. Waiting at a red light with the radio on then seeing someone walk by to the beat of the song you’re listening to.
