I still remember being out in the middle of nowhere wrapped up in blankets on the lawn looking up and telling my friend too look for streaks in the sky… the amazement in her eyes is something i will never forget…
How a hanging basket of flowers brightens up after a much needed dose of water. You felt gulity for forgetting to water–but when the flowers perk up you know all will be alright. Sort of like forgiveness in action.

Waking up on a monday and realizing its a holiday.
Everyone dislikes mondays for some reason or another. It’s the dreaded week ahead full of meetings , homework etc.
The awesome occurs when you realize you don’t have to get up and can roll over and do the arobatic snooze!
You’re at your friends house just hanging out, and you spill something all over yourself, or your stuck out in a downpour of rain…soaking wet and no extra clothes with you, you have to borrow clothes from your friend. But…..your friend is way skinner than you are. She hands you a pair of jeans and a shirt, “See if this fits….” And it does! Clothes from your skinny friend fits you! And you feel awesome!

Planning for a four day weekend.
Next Friday, I’m sleeping in. Saturday, I’m sleeping in. Sunday, I’m sleeping in. Monday (Memorial Day) I can’t sleep in, but I can take a mid-day nap! Nothing but relaxation and maybe a cookout or two.

I found “The Book of Awesome” while wondering through a book store. I never followed the website it just caught my eye. I had just finished 5 weeks of radiation treatment for breast cancer and still have two weeks to go. I loved this book. It really made me laugh. I am going to purchase another to leave in the waiting room at the Radiation office so others may find some laughter at a time when laughter is hard to find! Thanks so much for this great book!

Catching fire flies….well, I call them lightning bugs. I use to catch them as a kid. Put them in a jar and then let them all go.
Once I caught *one* and the next day I had *three*

Close calls.

You were just about to rear-end the car in front of you, but stopped just inches away.
You were dropping your favorite glass bowl, but caught it before it shaddered into pieces.

Scratching that itch you had for a while.
It seems that almost everytime I start to drive, my foot starts to itch and I’m just stuck. I’m stuck with this annoying little itch on my foot, inside my shoe and out of my reach. So, whenever I reach a red light and have time to plop that shoe off and scratch my foot…..ooohh…its awesome!

Today I was playing soccer with my brother and he went inside to get a drink and I was sooo sweaty and tired, so I lied down in the shade in the grass and looked up at the clouds in the sky, I felt refreshed instantly. It was awesome.
Waking up and having the circulation to one of your limbs cut off. Then sitting there flopping it around with your other arm until it comes back :D Awesome.

Accents. I love accents. Doesn’t matter what kind. British. Scottish. Austrailian. German. French. Spanish………… I love all of them. Even the ones from here in the US. People from New Jersey, Texas, Tennessee, West Virginia, New York, all of them…….. sometimes I like to guess where someone is from based on their accent.

I have this prank that I pull and have done it successfully a total of 3 times. It takes precise timing and the perfect window of opportunity, but if you pull if off it’s one of the funniest things I have ever seen! And, creates emotions and reactions that span the spectrum!
In a quiet, formal setting, like in a conference room, waiting for the boss to show so you can start the meeting, where it’s all formal and people are quiet and serious, a car honks its horn and everybody notices it, I stand up, gather my things and begin to walk out telling everybody, “That’s my mom, guys. I gotta go!”
Looking around the room the reactions are simply priceless! You see people who look bummed that I get to go home before he does, like when you’re waiting for your mom after school in junior high.
Most everybody just says, “I’ll see ya tomorrow!…Hey! Wait a minute…!”
Everybody can relate to that so if you pull it off successfully you’ll get their real inner jr. high version’s reaction.
When everybody finally gets it, people will come up to you for years after and ask if you remembered doing that cuz it was the funniest “prank” they’d ever been a part of it.
Try it! You might like it!
BTW, it’s even funnier if it’s a loud truck horn! Like a semi. :)
